Welcome to Seattle

Hip, diverse tech hub with culture on every corner

Seattle is a bustling metropolitan city situated amongst the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest. The urban tech hub is home to big businesses like Apple, Google, Facebook, and Adobe and serves as the headquarters for Microsoft and Amazon. The city was the site of the 1962 World’s Fair and has a fascinating history of growth from its humble beginnings. In addition to legendary landmarks like the Space Needle, Seattle is also overflowing with trendy restaurants, cafes, and nightlife. The community is a diverse one, with all types of people from different backgrounds and places (for example: Capitol Hill is the anchor of the gay community). Here, you’ll find everything from quaint, tucked-away homes to high-rise apartment buildings that will leave you gawking over views of the gorgeous cityscape.

  • Diverse array of people and culture

  • Tech industry

  • Variety of home styles

People & Lifestyle

Seattleites like the rush of city life, but they also enjoy taking advantage of the beautiful water, mountains, parkland, and evergreen forests surrounding it. In this area, you’ll find many young professionals as well as families who are living and working within the city. Residents embrace all types of people and pride themselves on being a melting pot.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

This city has it all — especially when it comes to warm, delicious food to contrast a rainy day. Get dressed up and check out Canlis Restaurant; it’s a fine-dining destination that’s been around since the 1950s and offers Pacific Northwest fare in a mid-century modern home. If you’re a fan of Italian cuisine, enjoy an excellent meal in the cozy yet chic dining room at Altura (you can even see the chefs cooking and making fresh salads!). Their seasonal handmade pastas are to die for, as is their wine. Another great Italian option is Spinasse, which has a more rustic atmosphere. The Metropolitan Grill has some of the greatest steak in town (and the most beautiful, 60-foot-long marble bar, too). We can’t round out the list without the Pike Place Market stalls — a perfect destination for both food and shopping. If you’re looking to support independently owned joints, The Pink Door is a cool spot that serves fresh, local seafood and produce. Matt’s in the Market, also located in Pike Place, serves seasonal specials with views of the bay. Want comfort food? JuneBaby cooks up the most mouthwatering Southern cuisine.

Things to Do

Seattle is big on events — especially when the sun is out to play. Seafair is a summer festival that is comprised of small neighborhood events that pave the way to a number of major citywide celebrations. Bite Of Seattle, a city-favorite, is one big food and entertainment extravaganza held annually that has more than 60 restaurants and pop-up vendors, craft beer, and more. Capitol Hill Block Party is a three-day music festival in the summer, and Fremont Solstice Parade celebrates the longest day of the year. Bumbershoot is an annual international music and arts festival, and Northwest Flower & Garden Show is one of the largest flower and garden shows in the country (not to mention great for home decoration inspiration). There’s the annual Seattle International Film Festival as well.

Like to get outdoors? Seattle is known for its incredible parks and water recreation. If you’re more into arts and culture, Seattle is also full of endless and fantastic museums to see.
